Born: Monterey, Calif., April 22, 1960

College:

Brigham Young University, 1978-1980

Three-time All-American, Two-time Collegiate Golfer of the Year

Prominent Amateur titles (7):

  • 1978 - Porter Cup, Western Amateur, World Amateur Team Title in competition for Eisenhower Trophy and Individual Champion; California State Amateur; Western Junior; Low Amateur at U.S. Open;
  • 1979 - Low Amateur in Masters Championship;
  • 1980 - Sunnehanna Amateur; California State Amateur.

Turned professional: 1980 on the PGA TOUR

Victories:

  • 1982 – Southern Open, PGA TOUR;
  • 1981 – ABC Cup Japan vs USA Match, Japan Tour;
  • 1980 – Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational (won as amateur)
  • Member of 1982 U.S. World Cup Team
  • Joined the Champions Tour, 2010
